WI Guitar™ App Reviews

Great app even for beginner

I always dreamt to learn music this comes true great thanks!

Limited app due to missing chords

This app uses excellent sound fonts - good quality sounds. The main issue with the app is that while playing a song, you quickly end up missing chords on the chord pad. You have no option to set up your own chord pad with selected chords for a specific song. For exemple, try to play Everybody Hurts from REM - a classic … No issue for chords like D/G Em/A … But trying to play live the following chords is pretty difficult: F#m / Bm For those 2 above chords, you have to press 3 or 4 keys simultaneously with your left hand (plus to correct strings with your right hand !): F#m : F + # + add9 + sus4 Bm: B + add9 + sus4 An update would be very welcome.

WI Guitar iPhone

Excellente application. Excellent son. En attente de la nouvelle version pour le choix des instruments This is a great application. Excellent sound. Looking forward to an update (promised by the author) as the choice of instruments is a major difficulty on the iPhone.

WI Guitar

Really the best Guitar App!!

Ver Very Very Good!

Very realistic! A ton of fun to play around with.

Wow

Super cette application avec toute les nouvelles guitare le son impeccable one of the best for music

Well????

Im new to iPad guitars and not much on a real guitar but this seems like 5 bucks wasted. Dont get this bit about the strings not being open unless you keep contact with the strings. So going thru a chord change where you lift all your fingers and the thing goes dead. Thats not realistic. Why cant I get rid of those chord buttons, I dont want them. Whats with that f chord, is that even possible? Disappointed.

Awesome

The different guitars are great. You get both acoustic and electric. Arne makes fantastic hybrid physically modeled instruments that are really a joy to play. Most other sample based apps pale in comparison. I took the time to learn its subtleties. Its a very expressive instrument. I strum with my right hand index finger and my thumb picks the bottom notes, much like a real guitar. By varying the pressure and position of the strums you can get some amazing tones and rhythms. A few things I would like to see in his iPad apps- the amazing orchestral app too... Audiobus support, basic stereo FX, and Ability to retune the instrument. Otherwise, they are great! Such a joy to play once I learned. Thanks Arne! Ps if you need help I am a programmer. Www.waybackhome.ca !

Great but...

Honestly this app wins hands down in its guitar dynamics department...which is very impressive. That being said..that is it. No audiobus or iaa support. By itself i really dont have a use for it. Honestly if i was at a campfire id just use the real thing. To me the idea of an ap and ios portability is the ability to act upon an inspiration and with no way to record inside the app and no way to connect it to audiobus or aum or any other ios daw there really is no other use. Please, you win in the creative department now put that to good use and add some practical functions and you guys will make a million bucks

.

Great app.! a lot of fun (prob. easier to use on an ipad than iphone) ...but great none the less! :-)

Good

Sounds fantastic! The strumming sounds real, best sounding guitar app but really needs to let you customize the strings on the left since minor flat chords are tricky to do fast

Deluxe app

Best guitfiddle app going. It sounds real and lets a klutzy keyboard player like me to finally add guit to the mix. Looking for some upgrades to include effects and pitch bend/vibrato to really sizzle this app. All in all it is deluxe and cant say enough about the sound quality. Only down side for an old retired 74year old is its a bit pricey but well worth the price. Thanks for hours of fun an r and r . Stan

Great sound!

Needs multitasking. If I need to look for chords for a song in Safari I dont want to have to launch this again. Also the ability to save settings would be nice. I love the 12-string sound! You get 5 stars because its so good sounding.

Hands down the best guitar app w/core Midi!

I just deleted all my other guitar apps. This one sounds great, dynamically responsive, and the core midi is fantastic! For a guitar player composing in Logic or Garageband this will be the best 10.00 you have spent!

not bad

As a guitarist who is always annoyed by computers trying to emulate guitar sounds, I will say this did a pretty good job with the acoustic guitars. In my opinion, the electric guitars all sound horrible but the acoustic guitars are enough to make up for it. Its all chordal from what I can tell so if youre wanting to do a solo you can probably forget it unless your solo is all arpeggios. I play some classical guitar so it is decent for working out finger picking patterns so thats a big plus for me on this app. Id give it 3 1/2 stars but they dont do half stars so ill just bump it up to 4. For the price, Id say its a good buy. Ive heard much more expensive programs that dont even come close. Electric guitars sound terrible on this though haha so just be aware of that.

Very, Very Good

Talk about breathing some life back into my DAW. Im not a guitar player. Just tired of the f-ing piano roll.

Left handed

Very realistic sounding, missing the option to switch to left handed playing then it will be worthy of ten stars.

Very expressive

Well done on the dynamic modeling! It sounds great, and once I got used to my limitations on the touch screen its a neat way to hash out chords and even quick demo tracks when regular recording isnt an option. And MIDI out? Thank you, thats a treat. Would love proper background/multitasking support, though. Having the app reset to defaults each time I switch away and back gets a little wearying after a few rounds.

Its an ok toy

Got this based on the reviews and am a bit disappointed. If you are just going to use it to play its probably fine. If you want to use it to make music not so much. The sounds for the most part are not pro grade. Too much reverb and or chorus and no way to modify the settings. If you listen to through high end gear or good pro headphones it is glaringly obvious and makes you want to stop playing. Playing it is a little funky also they way the transitions happen and the volume is handled. Garage band is much better for sound quality and its much easier to play the notes. On this app one hand is always stuck touching a chord box to the left. Very unfriendly. Why not just be able to tap and sustain each chord until you want to transition??? Not really sure why this app has such raving reviews. Disappointed.

Doesnt worth the money

It has silent sound - why? The paid version sounds worse then the free one. Only guitars available but costs the same price as Garage band (which is really better). I want to delete WI Guitar but still hope the developers will upgrade it with more loud sound at least...
